 Our Mission
Riverview Theatre Company is a non-profit organization whose goals are to present entertainment to the community, create experiences and educational opportunities for those pursuing the theatre craft and to promote awareness and appreciation of the arts.
Angie Kells, founder and executive artistic director, created Riverview out of the desire to present theatrical experiences not readily available in the McHenry area. This culmination of passion for theatre and a drive to present the very best entertainment to the community led her to establish McHenry's premiere community theatre group.
McHenry is the home to Riverview. The city’s thriving downtown riverfront district provides an inspirational backdrop for the expansion and appreciation of the fine arts.
Riverview Theatre Company presents a rich tapestry of theatrical experiences, from the classics to the latest musicals, comedies and dramas. Live stage productions will bring opportunities for all members of the community to participate in all aspects of theatre, both behind and in front of the curtain. Young people will get a taste of the limelight through RiverKids Children’s Theatre.
It is our hope that with the introduction of live, theatrical performances, the community will be enriched with the enlightened spirit and goodwill generated through exposure to the theatrical arts.
